The Association approved a project yesterday by a local NGO for the funding of 25 shelters in the village of Andrasi (NWFP).  For more details see "Presentation of shelter project by SRSP" in the News section.

 

Thursday November 10, 2005

Jasmine Syed , secretary of the Association, is leaving today for Lahore (at her own expense) so as to discuss immediate and future needs, visit the Kaghan valley and make progress on identification of two villages that could benefit from assistance with long-term reconstruction. She should be back in Paris on November 21 st .

On Thursday October 28, 2005, we negotiated and purchased 25 quality tents from a French manufacturer (tent specifications: 2.30 height at center and 1.85 at the sides, 6.30m x 3m in length and width) of a weight of 47.7 kilos transportable in two bags – since our mountain guides cannot carry more than 25/30 kilos over any significant distance in the mountains -, with a polyester PVC tent roof and closable windows, obtained entry clearance from the Embassy of Pakistan in Paris and transport by PIA free of charge as soon as possible.
